When I first wrote this little bit of "please sponsor me" blurb, it was all about what I'M doing and how difficult it's going to be for ME. It's just dawned on me that I've got it all wrong.

This isn't about what I'm going to achieve, it's all about what the Saints Foundation do on a daily basis to help people in the local community and beyond. They work with thousands of people across projects within the core themes of Football & Sports Participation, Education, Youth Engagement, Disability Sport and Homelessness to make a real difference to real people. These are people I've been priveleged to meet, whose lives have been changed by the brilliant Saints Foundation. THAT is what this is really for and I'm proud to be associated with them.

I'd love to be able to say I've contributed to just a little bit of their brilliant work, so please help them by giving what you can. It's all the motivation I need.

As an aside, for those who want to hear about what we're doing in return for your lovely cash: Along with a group of fellow Saints fans, I will embark on my journey from St Mary's in the wee hours of Good Friday, riding the 86 miles to Bicester in Oxfordshire. We then continue on Saturday 19th April, riding a further 62 miles to Villa Park, in time for the 3 o'clock kick off.
