This year my networking group Bedfordshire Business Women has been raising money for our local Cancer Care Charity. The Bedford Hospital Research and Education Fund is researching ways to reduce the long term side effects of cancer treatments. When I volunteered to run London for this important cause I knew many people who had been affected by cancer and by the treatment they have had to cure it. However this summer the cause became closer to my heart when my Dad was diagnosed with tongue cancer. He is just starting his treatment  combining drug therapy and Radiotherapy and we know the side effects will be tough for him to deal with. Knowing that I am raising money that will be used to look at ways to combat those side effects for future cancer sufferers has helped deal with this difficult time. Everyone deserves the chance to survive cancer and live a life free from the damage that the treatment can cause. Please help me to raise as much money as possible so that my charity can continue to research and present their findings to other treatment centres and doctors throughout the world.
