So please please sponsor me...... I am going to be living in a Nepali village on my own, working in partnership with a Nepali volunteer to undertake world saving activities for 7 months - I don't even know if I'll have electricity! It's a really isolated placement and I have to learn Nepali as there is virtually no English spoken in the village. I'll be ridiculously homesick and don't know how I'm going to cope on my own for so long. Student Partnership Worldwide do sustainable long term work with young people and communities all over the world. I am going out to help with the Nepal Community and Youth Empowerment Programme for 7 months in November 2009. I will be: - Empowering rural Nepali youth and their community members to lead healthy and productive lives through focusing upon; health including sanitation, access to clean water, nutrition, hygiene and sexual health, and Life skills development and livelihoods. - Delivering time-tabled health and sexual health lessons in schools, - Organising health and sexual health awareness events among the wider community, - Working with women's groups and Dalit communities to deliver health education and connect these groups with livelihood opportunities (e.g. government agricultural schemes, etc.), - Forming and strengthening green clubs (youth environmental / livelihood clubs), and - Connecting young people with decision makers.
