On the 17th of August we are cycling from Edinburgh to London to raise money for Right to Play.
Right to play are a charity that use sport as a catalyst to give children an education, teach them about health issues and generally improve their life skills. More details of the event can be found on their website: http://www.students4righttoplay.org.uk/
The Plan
Day 1: We will leave from Edinburgh Castle, roll over the hills on our way to Berwick-Upon-Tweed.
Day 2: Leaving Berwick we will enjoy a relaxed seaside ride over the border and along the Northumberland coast to Newcastle.
Day 3: The beautiful Moorlands in the Pennines await, idyllically flanking our cycle to Leeds. We're half way!
Day 4: Good old English country roads will take us through national parks on the way from Leeds to Nottingham.
Day 5: The penultimate and longest day of the ride (105 miles). No worries, it's all down hill (south) as we glide through the East Midlands to the stunning university town of Oxford.
Day 6: We'll hopefully joined by Mark Cavendish for the final leg of glory from Oxford and London where we'll finish outside Buckingham palace and celebrate our fantastic achievement. Then it's on to the post-cycle party...
This bike ride is going to be a challenge and we hope that we can have support from you so we can reach our fundraising target! So please sponsor us and we will buy you a drink sometime! :)
Lots of love, Katy, Helen and Ellie!
