As well as having a sunday morning congregation, Glenwood church seeks to serve it's local community through a number of social action projects. These include homeless work, children and youth groups and work with the elderly. Glenwood also supports people doing charitable work overseas.

My story

HELP US BUILD A SCHOOL FOR GOROM-GOROM !
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page to help us build a school in Gorom-Gorom, Burkina Faso.

I have been in Burkina Faso since 1989, and work closely in Gorom-Gorom with the local pastors. My home church, Glenwood Church, is partnered with the church there, and we plan to start building a Christian primary school in the town to support the vision of Pastor Daniel of the Gorom-Gorom church.

This will not only improve the education and development of the neediest parts of Burkina Faso, but also introduce children to the life and good news of Christ.

Building the School - UPDATE
Three hectares of land have been acquired for the school, just on the outskirts of Gorom-Gorom. The first phase will require three classrooms, a well, a house for the head teacher, a kitchen, and toilets.

The school is currently running in rented accommodation, and we now hope to start building the school in Sept 2009. A team of architects are designing a school that we hope will provide a quality learning environment for those often regarded as the least. The final cost of the project will be known only when the designs are finished, but the £40,000 target of this fund-raising page will make a huge contribution to the building of the school. Thank you for your help.
