My story

Why on earth would anybody seek to run ten full marathons over ten days – that’s over 421,950 meters? Or here to the shops quite a few times J. Even worst its hilly and in the Lake District in May 2012 so while the scenery will be awesome (on the first few days) the weather will probably involve a lot of rain.

Not only that but to get ready for this challenge I will be running at least another 16 marathons- making a minimum of 26 in total of running over ONE MILLION METRES. This is bigger, harder and certainly more challenging than anything I have ever attempted before – the opportunity to fail is huge which is where I need your support.

What I am looking for is to get every meter of the main challenge (the 10 marathons in 10 days) sponsored for ONE PENNY. Yep just one penny per meter. Of course I would be delighted if you could see your way to sponsor me for a few more meters - a KM would be £10, a mile would be £16.09, a 5 km £50 or a 10km £100. Having people sponsor me every meter will help me when the going gets tough remembering each meter brings in more cash to Brathay.

Brathay are a remarkable charity. They improves the lives of thousands of young people across the UK. They primarily work with those under 25 who are most disadvantaged or vulnerable, and who have suffered abuse or neglect, social exclusion or who are outside employment, education and training. Brathay’s vision is of a society where all children and young people fulfil their potential. That’s gotta be worth running a few miles for

If you can help – please do – if not could you ask your friends and family if they could My Challenge is being very kindly sponsored by Veolia Water who have backed me for the first 100,000 meters - which is absolutely brilliant of them - Thanks!.

And the small print....Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
