I did it!!
I completed the Great North Run in a time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 13 seconds. That doesn't include the 25 minutes it took to cross the start line though. Iain also finished - in a slightly faster time than me. It was a memorable day and I haven't been put off running another. Roll on next year!!
Many thanks to you all for sponsoring me. I can't believe how generous everyone has been. Once again, thank you all very much.

Several years ago my father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Since then I have watched his health and mobility slowly deteriorate. Much of what I have read about the disorder has been through the MS Society website: http://www.mssociety.org.uk. It was also through the MS Society that my father met his partner, Jayne - another MS sufferer. They are both so positive in their attitude and behaviour that it has been an inspiration for me throughout my training for this run.
So why the Great North Run? This New Year's resolution was to lose weight and try to get fitter - same as every other year. However, this year my friend Iain also had the same idea and set about trying to convince me to do the Great North Run. I reluctantly agreed thinking there would be plenty of time for us to both forget the idea. Over 8 months on and we're still in training. Too late to back out now!! I'm actually quite excited about it!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Multiple Sclerosis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
