My personal message:

Hi

The furthest I have ever run in an athletics event is 800m, which I did when I was about 14 years old - and I recall almost getting lapped!  Why? (I hear you ask) did I enter the Great Manchester Run and therefore subject myself to 10,000m of running.

Quite simply it is the cause.

The facts are that unfortunately 1 in 3 of us will get cancer.  1.2 million of us are living with it.  I personally know too many people that have had or have cancer and the devastating effect it can have.  Currently my sister has a tumour on the brain, but amazingly she is remaining very positive for the future.  She is therefore an inspiration to me.

Macmillan cancer support really do give excellent support to those affected by cancer, and I therefore want to help in this way to raise much needed funds for them.
