Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Greyhounds In Need will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
I will be doing the Manchester 100 mile bike ride on the 2nd of September.
This bike ride will be a real challenge as I’ve not been cycling long and never done 50 miles let alone 100! I'm hoping to do it in uder 8 hours.
Greyhounds in Needs are an important charity doing all they can to relieve the suffering of the greyhounds in Spain as well as helping find ‘forever’ homes for greyhounds, educate and stop cruelty to greyhounds as well as organizing fundraising events all over the country.
Please visit the Greyhound in Need site as its contains a lot of information on the important work they do; www.greyhoundsinneed.co.uk
Greyhounds in Need have new rescue kennels in the North West, at Delamere, the cycle route cuts through Delamere forest and some of the dogs (including Benji pictured above) and their carer's will be there to help motivate me. As the greyhounds are so fast ( they can reach up to 45 mph) they may even be showing me a thing or two!
Thanks guys I really appreciate the support and helping me raise much needed funds i've just added, below, some info about Greyhounds in Need.
Thanks everyone i will keep you upto date!
"Greyhounds in Need English registered charity founded by Anne Finch, concerned with the plight of greyhounds everywhere, and especially in Spain, where most of our work is done.
Since starting this work in 1991 we have rescued and found homes for several thousand dogs with the help of many Spanish volunteers who carry out primary rescue work, and the homing groups and individuals in Europe and the USA who, in sympathy with our work, are promoting adoption in their own countries.
Greyhounds and galgos (Spanish-bred hunting greyhounds) make excellent family pets, and, contrary to popular opinion, their requirements for exercise are moderate and many can live happily with cats.
GIN is the leading greyhound rescue charity working in Spain and has unique knowledge of conditions there, and has permanent need of donations to enable the rescue work in Spain to be continued and expanded." taken from the Greyhounds in Need website
Many thanks for your support. Kelly xxx
