I took part in How To Look Good Naked out of desperation… and it changed my life!
I also hoped that it would raise awareness of breast cancer in young women and the huge emotional impact of coping with the disease. The feedback from the original show was amazing. I hope that by taking part in a revisit programme it will raise even more awareness and other people in a similar situation will realise that there is life after cancer.
I was lucky. I had Gok and a whole host of friends, family and support from The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care who supported me during filming for the programme. Not everyone is so lucky. The services provided by The Lavender Trust really do make a difference. They provide information and emotional support to young women with breast cancer, who often feel very isolated.
The Lavender Trust also supported me emotionally through the filming of the programme which was difficult and at times terrifying. It all came good in the end though and with the help of Gok, all those at Maverick TV, The Lavender Trust and of course my friends and family, my life is back on track.
I hope that you will find my story inspiring and I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to make a donation.
