My story

 
Hi Everyone,

I was diagnosed with throat cancer on the 1st April 2008. I had 35 sessions of radiotherapy treatment during June and July of 2008 in St Luke's Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. On the 1st September 2008 I was advised that the treatment had been successful.

Today I am a survivor and trying to get on with my life thanks to all the wonderful people who have helped and supported me. I currently have checkups every two months and the next one is scheduled for July 2009. After bit of a scare which required another scan I was given the all clear. So I am now a one year survivor! 

I am taking part in the Mouth Cancer 10K walk (Hyde Park, London, 26/09/2009) to help raise awareness of mouth, throat, head and neck cancers, and also raise some money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation. Also in the team are my lovely partner Ann and my wonderful daughter Ann-Louise. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Dedicated to my mother who passed away on the 15th July 2008 and my father 12th April 2009, rest in peace.
