Hello friends!!
I was crazy enough to take part in a 12,000 ft Freefall Tandem Parachute Jump in Maidstone to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy Care on Sunday 3rd May.
After being cancelled a few times I couldnt wait to jump when I arrived... luckily I was 1st up & after being crammed in to a rather fetching green body suit & squeezed into a plane with 14 others we started our climb into the sky!
When we got to 12,000ft it was my turn & as my tandem partner shuffled me to the door I knew there was no going back! My profile picture catches me screaming as we leave the plane... freefalling through the sky at 120mph was an amazing experience... I never stopped screaming! When the parachute was released & I was able to have a steer, as lovely as the view was I started to feel slightly sick & counted down the ft until I reached the floor !! When we did reach the floor I was feeling both excited, proud & slightly sick but it was all for a very good cause!!!
The charity: CPC is a Kent based charity providing free specialist education for children under five with Cerebral Palsy and similar motor disorders. For over fifteen years, the dedicated teaching staff from CPC have given hope and joy to disabled children and their families through the teaching of Conductive Education. CPC is the only charity in Kent providing a future for these children, but they desperately need our help.
I want to say a big thanks to all that have sponsored me!! I doubt I will ever do another parachute jump (im not sure my stomach is made for it)... but now I have been able to tick it off my list of 'Things to do before I die' whilst raising a great sum of money for a very special charity!
THANK YOU
