I'm going to attempt a half marathon in Exeter on Sunday 3rd May, don't know whether I'll finish it but here goes!!
I know you may be all thinking "Why should I give money to a charity, which helps junkies and alcoholics. When I could be spending it on my own vices!"
But most of you who have listened to mine and my families moaning over the years, will know why these types of small charities are so important. As they not only help users, but this directly affects the families and friends of people who are addicts.
My life has been a lot less stressful since my brother was helped by this charity (I won't bore you with ten years of grief) but I think we all know how helping one person with their problems, also makes a change for the wider community.
EDP works with people who have, or are affected by, drug and alcohol problems. We work both in the community and in prisons.
We know it isn't easy to seek help for drug and alcohol problems, and we try to make our services as welcoming and accessible as we can.
Our expertise lies in our ability to facilitate positive change.
A fundamental belief underpinning our work is that, given the right support and resources, people can and do make remarkable changes.
