We have been pounding the streets for the past few months and on October 18 this year, all being well, Rob and I will be running in the Istanbul marathon! You may be wondering why on earth we have picked Istanbul (so do I sometimes - especially when we look at the weather forecast and the fact that we have to finish in 5 hours or they open the roads up to traffic again!!) but Istanbul is one of Rob’s favourite cities and this marathon is apparently the only one in the world which is run across two continents. Also, we get to have a kebab afterwards!!

will be running the marathon on behalf of the CT Scanner Appeal for Worthing Hospital. At the end of last year,
I lost a very dear friend, Mike Barling. He received wonderful care in Worthing Hospital and we would like to help them
in any way we can. With the number of people requiring CT scans increasing
each year, they are desperately in need of a second scanner. CT scans are
effectively 3D x-rays, which are quick and painless and have become a very
important diagnostic tool for numerous conditions, especially cancer and
trauma. Anything you are able to give would be wonderful and we would be
very grateful.
