Update - 15 June 2008.
I have completed the trek of Kilimanjaro, reaching the summit on Monday 9 June at 8.35am and am now back safely in west London with some great memories. Thank you for all of the support and encouragement. So far we have raised nearly £23,000 and I am now hoping for a total of £30,000 once remaining pledges etc. are collected. This is a great deal of money so many many thanks for your sponsorship. If you have not sponsored me and would like to, it is not too late. Please press on the Sponosr Us Now button above.
Thanks for visiting my site and for your support. Stewart

Thanks for visiting my page. I would like to ask for your support and sponsorship.
On June 1, I am heading off to Tanzania in Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro with a group of Accenture colleagues. The summit of Kilimanjaro is the highest point in Africa at 19,340 feet/5,895 meters and is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. It’s over 4 times higher than the tallest mountain in the UK!
I have never done anything like this before. Over the years I have seen some great initiatives and charitable work by friends and colleagues and thought it was about time I did something. This trek provides a great focal point to get fit, a big physical and mental challenge beyond anything I have done before and is a fantastic opportunity to help some of the poorest and most defenseless people in the world.
The "challenge" is being organized by the British charity, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), and the overall effort is to raise money for VSO and their work helping African citizens affected by crippling poverty and a very high incidence of HIV & AIDS.
Before we depart for our 7 day trek to the "roof of Africa," we will also have the opportunity to visit a VSO supported program to hear first hand about the program, in addition to spending time with the community and visiting homes of the children and families who benefit.
You will see that I have an ambitious sponsorship target, £20,000. So please contibute; all sums small or large will be gratefully received. I will meet the cost of the trip and will match every donation made so we have a great chance to raise an awful lot of money for some very needy people.
I will let you know how I get on both in my training and on the climb itself.
Many thanks for your support and if you feel that others may be interested in sponsoring me, please forward this link to them.
Thanks. Stewart
