My son's name is Jacob. He is 8 years old. I am writing this for him as he finds some of the words difficult to write. All he knows is that his cousins are dying and he wants to help.
He asked me recently if we had any money we could give the family in order to help them. Unfortunatley we do not. Jacob came up with the idea of Climbing Ben Nevis for 'The Myelin Project'. This charity funds vital research for Leukodystrophy and multiple Sclerosis. His words to me were ...' I can use my own health to help those who don't have good health'. His enthusiasm to help, his consideration of other's less fortunate than himself, and his energy for this challenge, has left us all very much in awe of him This particular charity is close to his heart as his twin cousins have been diagnosed with leukodystrophy, because it is a genetic disease, and because they are identical twins they both are suffers. Can you image what it would be like to care for one terminally ill child, let alone two beautiful twin boys?Everyone who knows Jacob, knows his boundless energy, enthusiasm for life, and his amazing sense of humour. Please help him achieve his goal, and help his cousins fight their battle against a terrible disease. JACOB MADE THE CLIMB TODAY, HE REACHED THE SUMMIT IN 3 1/2 HOURS WHICH IS AN AMAZING TIME FOR AN EIGHT YEAR OLD. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY, IT KEPT JACOB GOING WHEN IT GOT REALLY TOUGH! JULY 29TH 2011.
