In an early mid-life crisis I have been roped into reviving my fighting career with a boxing contest at the end of October. There are a bunch of us who signed up to 10 weeks of training for a White Collar Boxing Fight Night in the Europa.
I have taken several weeks of being thumped around the head (particularly the nose) and have generally injured most parts of my anatomy. And, you know me, I've tried to give as good as I've got!
The idea is to raise a bit of money for charity - because surely some good has to come from the pain! I'd really like you to consider giving a bit of cash to NI Hospice through this page as it's particularly close to me and my family.
As many of you know my Mum died 15 years ago from cancer and she received incredible treatment from a whole host of people, and particularly the NI Hospice. NI Hospice were also there in 2004 to support me and my sister, Julie, during the time my Dad required palliative care after his heart attack and also offered support and advice after his death. They help as many people as they can in similar situations and need whatever funding can be provided.
I promise to send pictures of the event (hopefully with me in a victory pose rather than being carried out by St John's Ambulance!) to anyone who donates.
Thanks,
Peter
