With the money raised by Sucata Run this year Gemini.org are planning to run a project to raise awareness of Malaria. Students from over 100 schools around the globe will be able to explore the topic using the case study of Sierra Leone, where it is the biggest killer of children under five. They will explore the reasons why so many people still die from malaria and what is being done by humanitarian aid agencies to prevent this.

Through participation in this project, young people will be able to join the global effort against malaria. They will hear stories of how governments and aid organisations are fighting the disease, they will talk to other children in affected regions, and they will be given the opportunity to design their own awareness raising campaign on the theme of malaria prevention.
Each £1000 raised by teams taking part in this event will pay for five schools to take part in the project. The more schools that can be involved, the bigger an impact Gemini.org can have around the world.
