LEPRA is a medical development charity with a mission to restore health, hope and dignity to people affected by diseases of poverty.

LEPRA was established in 1924 and works in 10 countries in Africa, Asia & South America covering an estimated 300 million people. Four major diseases that LEPRA is helping to fight:

Leprosy: although widely thought of as a biblical disease, there are still more than 400,000 people directly affected every year - and it costs only 25 pounds to help cure someone using treatment that renders the disease no longer infectious after just 24 hours.

HIV/AIDS: has infected approximately 40 million people globally.

TB: leading cause of death for people infected with HIV/AIDS (2 million every year).

Malaria: kills an estimated 1.5 million p.a. including 1 child every 30 seconds.
