What is the Sucata Run?

Sucata n. /SOO-CAH-TAH/ Portuguese:  junk, rubbish, crap

The Sucata Run is a bargain basement rally where teams of up to 4 people drive to Mainland Europe's most westerly point in 4 days in bangers costing no more than £250. It takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (21st - 25th) and culminates at the breath taking Guincho beach on the Portuguese coast.  It is organised through GEMIN-I

We’ve managed to find a lovely 1993 L Reg Rover 620Gsi Auto for this trek, and within budget!!!!  Picture will be posted shortly

Who are GEMIN-I?

Gemin-i offer innovative solutions to improve education in the developing and developed worlds. As an organisation they work at bridging cultural, religious and digital divides between disparate people around the world. They also specialise in using technology to give a voice to those who rarely have one, raising their concerns with policy makers and ensuring they are adequately represented. We want to instigate conversation, breaking down cultural myths and stereotypes in order to reduce conflict (of which there are too many current examples) and promote peace and understanding (which we feel is at an all time low).
Gemin-i.org is a charity specialising in developing innovative web based solutions to improve education in the developing and developed worlds.
