My story

Hi there!

Recently my son Kristian was seriously ill and spent 6 weeks in hospital, 5 of them in Alder Hey in Liverpool. Whilst he was there I had use of a room in the Ronald MacDonald House and found out what an amazing service it offers to families of sick children. (Because a child’s illness affects the lives of the whole family).

Each family has its own room with en suite bathroom, use of a kitchen with fridge and freezer, cooker etc, laundry facilities.There are lounge areas to enable people to socialize, with tellys, playstaions for the kids etc.Ouside is a safe play area.Every Thursday volunteers bring in a meal for the families. 90% of the staff are volunteers.

It was my haven and helped me to cope with a difficult situation better.

Now Kristian (and I!) are home and he is improving, now we would like to give something back to the House at Alder Hey, so we are planning a sponsored walk around the Great Orme in Llandudno, on Sunday, August 16th .
