Here I am again, thanks for visiting my fundraising page for 2009, this time I've titled my fundraising Challenges as "I'm Back", what could be simpler!

Mad as ever I've a few things planned, with Suz having embarked on married life as Mrs Maloney, once again I'm doing things on my own (OK no doubt helped by the usual group of friends). Thanks Suz's for a brilliant if eventful previous 2 years of fundraising, ending in over £7900 raised for CLAN and BCC and a fantastic trip to the Great Wall of China!

August 16th this year will be the 5 year aniversary of my "wee hiccup"and aswell as continuing to give something back, this year it really is in thanks & memory of all the people I've had the privilege of meeting, some not as fortunate as myself.

The Diary of events has started with me taking part in the London Marathon on April 26th; OK yep I did say never again but I didn't realise back in April 2003 what the  years following that 5hrs 18mins of the London Marathon course had in store. When I first raised money for CLAN with my "Back to fitness" campaign in 2005, I thought I'd be running  a marathon in 2007; a broken leg on Mount Etna didn't help that idea (sorry sis!).

My time on the 26th April was 5hrs and 39mins and I had a most fantastic experience thoroughly enjoying myself and taking in the atmosphere; I think Michael must have covered a similar distance as he seemed to be there camera in hand to capture me going around the whole 26.2 miles.

Me running in the London Marathon was the 2nd of 3 marathon's that CLAN has had this year, in aid of its 123 Campaign.  Clare Davidson, Volunteer Manager at CLAN, swam a marathon distance during the month of March, the 3rd at the end of May saw Clancy, CLAN's Rabbit mascot, complete the Edinburgh Marathon in 5hrs 23min (he'd done 5 & 10K's in Aberdeen before and obviously didn't want to miss an opportunity). You can still sponsor him at http://www.justgiving.com/clancysclan

OK completed the Midnight Prowl (Fraserburgh, half marathon walk at night) finishing in the top 40 in just over 3hrs. Then I've been doing a wee bit for Cancer Research UK with the Race for Life 5K (Aberedeen Beach) last month and just completed  the Relay for Life in Peterhead in July as part of the Mad Coos Team.

Next month sees me celebrating my  5 years since diagnosis and so who knows what's round the corner after that!

I'd like to thank you all for helping me reach the £4K mark, enabling me to have a wee break from fundraising while I undertake a different type of challenge, doing up a house with Michael.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Link Aberdeen & North gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
