**WE THANK EACH & EVERY ONE WHO HAVE KINDLY MADE A DONATION TO THIS WORTHY CAUSE**
*THIS WAS A SELF FUNDED TRIP FOR ALL OF US-ALL DONATIONS ARE FOR OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS*
UPDATE: Back In One Piece
although we did cause a bit of a headache for the British Embassy & Peruvian Authorities, to get us home! we can laugh about it now but it was a bit worrying at the time!
some of us managed to stay upright... some of us didn't!! beautiful country & such friendly people but i for one hadn't really prepared myself for the poverty, i think non of us will ever complain about the cards we've been delt in life ever again, It was certainly an adventure not to be missed BUT some off us won't be in a hurry to repeat either We all survived it some better than others, few tantrums, few tears, broken bones, bruises to cobble dogs with, a few grazes, one wrecked bike & enough insect bits that would have you thinking we'd escaped from a lepper colony but the comradery & support for each other was more to do with getting us through it than anything else, getting home put a bit of a damper on things, we should have got home on Friday 30/10/09 but because our internal flight back to Lima was 3 & a half hours late we missed the flight back home, some of us had travel insurance that covered for missed departures so new tickets costing between £900/£1300 squids were bought.... some of us didn't!!! so we had to sit it out untill the airline who's fault it was we missed the plane could get us a seat on a plane home, nightmare!!! the remaining few got home on the Tuesday & Thursday 3rd & 5th of November.....
If you get chance take a look at the spread thats going to be in Ride Magazine (think it will be the one thats on the shelves December which will be the January issue) it all seemed to be over far to quick (apart from the journey home lol) can't really believe we've 'BEEN THERE-DONE THAT' & it's all over!!!

Hi everyone
Thanks for visiting the Peru Ladies Tour fundraising page.
We're a group of female road riders, all of whom have overcome major illnesses or faced great personal adversity in our lives, and are attempting to conquer the Peruvian Andes on trailbikes. Oh, and we don't have much off road riding experience at all!
The inspiration behind it all was Sally Ann Holmes, who survived a sub-arachnoid brain hemorrhage, and against all odds, made a full recovery. After getting back on her feet she was determined to try something different, so she learnt to ride. And the rest, as they say, is history...
We'll be riding the 1000-mile gruelling route over two weeks and will face mile deep canyons, twisty high-altitude hairpin gravel trails and the odd lama or two...
We've decided to raise money for Help For Heroes, as these brave boys & girls do so much for everyone in the UK and really need (and derserve) all the help they can get.... With your support we hope to raise as much as possible.... & donations no matter how small will go a long way in helping to re-building a better life for them all, as without them none of us would be 'Free' to undertake such personal challanges let alone go about our daily lives as we do! I hope we can do them proud!.......as proud as we all are of them & with your support i'm sure we can :)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much for your donation. It means the world
to us.
