On 23rd April at the London Marathon I will be attempting to break the World Record for running the fastest marathon dressed as a baby

There are a few reasons why I've chosen to do this, I'll start with the charity rather than my addiction to attention seeking:

York SCBU looked after both Isobel and Jude in their first few days so Amanda and I saw first hand the good work they do and we saw how much they rely on donations. This is the charity of choice for Lakeside Primary School and I'm proud to say it was Izi that successfully presented this to the judging panel.

....and yes, of course this is another chance for me to seek attention. I'd looked at some of the World Records that exist for running the Marathon and was tempted before. The fastest banana was a-peel-ing (sorry) especially as the time was quite easy to achieve....or it was, someone has now shattered that record so I put the idea of World Record on hold. I had thought about running as Captain Canary - the NCFC mascot but my mind was made up when SCBU became charity of choice for the kids' school.

It seemed appropriate to go round the marathon course as a baby. I looked to see if a World Record was set for this, it was and currently stands at 3h 13 minutes. A very challenging time and one I have only been faster than twice in my 7 marathons. My application to attempt this record has now been accepted and the criteria set. Nappy, bib, dummy, bottle and bonnet must be taken round the 26 and a bit miles........the challenge is on, it won't be easy but I will give it a good go to get myself in the record books and raise as much money for SCBU as I can.
