On July 31st, our team of 16 very brave people from Lansons headed out at an ungodly hour to an airfield in Cambridgeshire hoping to leap out of a plane at 13,000 ft, freefalling for 50 seconds at a speed of around 120mph before being guided back down to earth with a (safe) bump. However, due to adverse weather conditions, only one of the team was able to make the jump. The other 15 had the agony of seeing others going up in what must have been the world's most rickety plane so they can no longer say ignorance is bliss. The good news is that these hardy souls have since rebooked their jumps for September and October.
It's all in aid of Lansons' charity of the year, the Breast Cancer Haven. 46,000 women (and men) are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, the equivalent of 125 per day. Despite a welcome increase in breast cancer awareness, Breast Cancer Haven remains the only charity that promotes integrated healthcare specifically designed to support people through their breast cancer treatment. They provide support, information and complementary therapies to people who need help right now. Breast cancer touches so many lives, and it's really imperative that wonderful places like this are able to continue their work. We would welcome any donation you feel able to make. Pictures will follow!
