Hi, I'm Larry and I'm part of
CLIC Sargent's Team Sheene 2009
The Barry Sheene Memorial Motorcycle Challenge is an annual event which sees 40 riders from around the UK travel over to Europe to rack up some serious mileage, and serious money for children with cancer.
I'm dedicating the ride to Nathan Hancock, who lost his battle with cancer near the end of 2008. Coincidently, my cousin Nathan has also had help from CLIC Sargent too, so it must be fate.
Thanks go to my lovely girlfriend, Vicky, for her generous donation and to my work colleagues for getting the ball rolling! Thanks to Rob too for being the first online donor! I also need to thank my mum, Heather, for her big donation too!
Thanks also to Nic, Steve D, Paul, Andy, Dan and Douggie for paying up.
Huge thanks to Sandra, who very kindly took a sponsor form to work, and raised a whopping £200 ! Thanks to Cadbury's too for their Donation.
I know that it's not an easy time to dig deep, but every bit helps. justgiving operate a minimum £2 donation policy. That'll do! It just means that you'll have to rope your friends in to help the cause
I've had an article in the Spalding Guardian, and I've been at the Springfields Bike Show. Help spread the word. I need £1.60 per mile. Sponsor me for a mile.
If you're on facebook, look at the Nathan Hancock - Never Forgotten group to find out his story.
I've had a lot of positive feedback with the people I've spoken too already, but please tell your friends. If you want to get in touch, please email larryhowman@yahoo.com and there's also a facebook group which is http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36622834577 . Please leave a comment, don't be shy!
(Don't fret about being asked for your address. It's to prove you're a tax payer, and therefore elligible for Gift Aid)
