Story

5days to go eeeeek!!!

3weeks 6days to go guys!!! :) flight details are in!!

6 days of trekking...7-8 hours trekking aday...little time to sleep... 5,895 meter (19,341 feet) above sea level... I am doing the Machame Trail, which begins in the South West of the mountain in the Rainforest and each day I will enter a new climate zone – moorland, desert-like terrain, moon-like terrain, scree and then up to the ice peaked summit. There is an average pace and length of each day walked – less time to rest! On this route, I will walk higher and sleep lower!

The Reason…
Breast Cancer Care, is a close charity to me and my family. Thanks to other people over the years donating to this charity, it has help a very special person in my life, stay in my life. I believe that it isn’t just the treatment that saves them, it’s the will power and help from others. Having someone to talk to, meeting other people who are in the same situation as them, to be there to support each other. If it wasn’t for all the other people donating to Breast Cancer Care, this wouldn’t have happened. That is why I feel I need to repay them and say Thankyou.

Every 10 minutes someone hears the devastating news that they have breast cancer. They’ll probably feel frightened and confused – and their family and friends might need help too.

£2 pays for a headscarf set, helping to boost the confidence of a woman who has lost her hair as a result of her breast cancer treatment.

£24 pays for our expert Helpline team to talk with a caller in confidence about any questions or worries they may have about breast health or as a result of their breast cancer diagnosis or treatment.

£52 pays for a personal appointment with our HeadStrong service to help women cope with the distress of hair loss from cancer treatment. As well as practical advice and information, clients have the chance to try scarves and hats and find something which suits them.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this page. Please, please sponsor me! If everyone just was to sponsor just £2, more and more women would feel more confident about losing their hair!
