I am running the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for the Perthes Association. My five year old son, Sam, has been suffering from perthes disease since shortly after his fourth birthday. Perthes disease is a condition which causes the head of the femur to die and breakdown. The condition causes sufferers severe pain and stiffness in the hip joint, along with mobility problems. The perthes association is a source of support for families affected by perthes. Please take the time to visit their website to find out more about perthes disease and the work they do.
Since setting up this page I have decided to set myself more of a
challenge than "just" a half marathon. On August 16th 2009 I will be
taking part in the Erewash Novice Triathlon- 400m swim, 10 mile bike
ride and 5k run.
