OK, you all know me. I'm not one of those people who's forever tapping you up for worthy causes. I do not, and never will do any sort of sporting event or ask for your cash to jump out of a plane (though I'm sure many of you would be willing to see this, possibly sans parachute).
However, earlier this year my little brother Jack (OK, he's 6'3", but he's still my little brother) lost his girlfriend Hannah very suddenly owing to a heart condition.
Shockingly, eight apparently healthy young people every week die from heart conditions. CRY campaigns for greater awareness and testing for heart conditions; sometimes very treatable conditions are missed by GPs through lack of education. I know it sounds cliched but if this saves just one family from going through what Hannah's family, Jack, and my family have been through over the last few months, then that has to be a good thing.
Like I said, I'm not exactly the sporty type, so I'm not going to promise to walk six hundred miles, or climb a mountain or do anything that's going to result in blisters or involves a tent.
