I am planning to swim the distance of the English Channel (22 miles) over a 12 week period. And not just in Islington's pools - I am intending to do this by swimming in every council pool in London- which by my last reckoning was 110 pools in 33 boroughs.

I also plan to do 3 in France - in Lyon, Lille and Toulouse - so there really is a cross channel element.

This is a big challenge for someone who needs a rest after every few length - thank goodness for my moped, because that is 9 pools a week and I have a few weekends in France thrown into that mix too!

At the same time I will be raising money for Aspire and people with spinal cord injuries.
