In August 2009 me and my friend Kerry will be taking part in the London to Paris bike ride! I know it may sound strange to anyone that knows us as we have never cycled anywhere in over 5 years however we are training hard and we think it is worth the pain to support such good charities. I need to raise £1200 with the help of you guys!!

My charity is Help for Heroes.... My boyfriend of 5 years is a serving soldier in the Royal Engineers and has been for almost 4 years. He has been on tour to Iraq in 2006/07 and is due to leave for Afghanistan in March 09. There are a lot of my friends in a similar situation as myself and as anyone who has relatives, boyfriends/girlfriends or mates in the services will know it is a tough time. I wanted something to focus on while Jay was away and this is perfect as I will also be helping all those hurt in the current conflicts. I think what our servicemen and women do is fantastic and I want to give something back, they risk their lives on a daily basis while on tour and on top of that have to suffer guilt, tiredness and boredom amongst other things. It is a tough life and a job somebody has to do.

I have worked out that if 150 people could give me £5 I can meet the target on top of other fundraising....so watch out for our charity events, they will be a fun night out if nothing else!!

The chairty has only been established since 2007 and so needs all the support it can get. By donating money for my bike ride you will be Helping a Hero! CHEESY BUT TRUE!
