Every year birds of prey migrate south over the Maltese Islands, the birds come to this narrow Mediterranean crossing point from countries all over Europe where they rest before heading to Africa for the Winter. The birds are slow moving and are easy targets for hundreds of Maltese hunters. Last year I saw buzzards and harriers being blasted from the skies, and many birds with horrific injuries destined to eventually drown in the sea as they attempt to cross to Africa in a weakened state.
This year the League Against Cruel Sports is funding mine and two other volunteers’ trip to assist in helping to stop the barbaric slaughter. Any money you donate will help us stop the slaughter.
A blog post about how we monitor, and help protect these birds can be found here.
Please consider making a small donation.
Thank you
