Thank you to everyone who donated to our appeal to save Leaches Farm - your support has been tremendous and greatly appreciated.
We are thrilled to say that, thanks to all your support and generosity, we have reached our appeal target of £200,000 and on the afternoon of Monday 26 October we became the official owners of Leaches Farm.
It was vital that we saved these meadows – and so we're enormously grateful for the generous support of our members and the public. We would also like to thank other funders including WREN and Biffaward (distributors of Landfill Communities Fund support from Waste Recycling Group and Biffa respectively) as well as Aylesbury Vale Community Chest and Aylesbury Vale District Council for their contributions which enabled us to reach the £504,000 total required to buy Leaches Farm.
We can now manage this land for wading birds, skylarks, great crested newts and so many other species. We hope that everyone will visit Leaches Farm to see the wildflower meadows in bloom in the summer and the lapwings flocking here in the winter months.
Thank you again for all your help and good wishes!
P.S. This page will continue to accept donations for a short period. Although we have reached our appeal target, we'd still be extremely grateful for any further donations, which will go towards the management work needed at Leaches Farm.
