Welcome to our Just Giving site for our tremendous charity CCLASP – raising some well deserved cash for needy kids.
As one of the senior leadership teams within British Gas – and having a passion for supporting our local communities in Edinburgh - we really wanted to do something for a worthwhile cause that was a bit different from the norm. One team building event in the Lake District later we found ourselves enthusiastically agreeing into something a bit grander as a challenge - and so was born the awesome prospect of completing the 3 peaks challenge – climbing up and down Ben Nevis / Snowdon / Scafell Pike in just 24 hours. And before you think all we have to do in one day is climb 11,178ft in mountains (and then come back down again!) please think again - we also have to travel the nearly 500 miles between the 3 mountains in the 24 hours as well! No mean achievement at all.
So, on the 16/17 June 2011 will see us on our way to beat the clock – 4 of us will climb the mountain (Kevin/Cathy/Rob/Ally) – supported by a team of 4 drivers/cooks/nurses/cheerleaders (Richard/Jen/Lisa/Caroline). This promises to be an amazing 24 hours and an experience that I’m sure will live with us forever, so please dig deep and sponsor us in our quest to do something great for the kids of CCLASP (read a bit more about them on this page)… and revel in glee after the event at our sore joints and blistered feet!
