Thanks for your interest in helping to fund a school at Simakakata in rural Zambia. They badly need funds for the materials to build the final classroom and a 5 teachers' house (which the parents will build).
Fundraising has recently been completed for the first classroom and CARE International have donated enough funds for an entire classroom block (3 classrooms). The next target is to reach £11,400 which will allow us to fund the raw materials for the final classroom. Once this has been built attention will switch to the vital teachers' houses. In Zambia if you can provide a place for a teacher to live the government will provide a trained teacher for free. You can make a secure donation by clicking on the donate button (above).
To see exactly who your money will help you can follow stories from the community on our blog and on twitter.
If you are a UK tax payer please consider adding gift aid to your donation which increases the value of gift by 28% at no cost to yourself. Thanks.
P.S. We are using JustGiving so that we can add a totaliser to the project. Page owner Steve is the founder of LearnAsOne and he is part of the team who regularly reports from the project in Zambia.
