BDDA promotes the welfare of disabled people in Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria and the surrounding districts. BDDA offers advice, educational facilities, complementary therapies, social events, youth activites and provides a meeting place for people with all kinds of disabilities.

My personal message:

Hi there

well, we made it! 

Despite getting up at 3.15 am, we were late starting because the youngest member of the team had been clubbing on Friday and slept in!  The last of us finally set off from Keswick at 6.13am.   Ellie and I crossed the finish line 11 hours 27 minutes later.  I was wearing the hat and high heels I needed to win the bets from Alex and Debra. (OK, so the heels only lasted 2 minutes but a bet's a bet!)

The two most injured girls hobbled in after 13 and a half hours, holding hands across the line to numb the pain of the blisters.

Between us we notched up; 792 miles, 4 knee braces, 43 isotonic drinks, 2 asthma attacks, one lost toe nail, 51 mars bars, 4 pints of cider, one vodka, one leopard print thong, countless tears and 33 blisters!

Not a bad day's work by anyone's standards!
