Hello everyone,
Thanks very much for visiting my fundraising page.
As you all probably know by now I was diagnosed with an Anaplastic Astrocytoma Brain Tumour on the 8th April 2009. This obviously came as a tremendous shock to myself and my family.
Radiotherapy treatment for the Cancer started on the 2nd June and is a 6 week course, where I will attend the Rosemere Ward at Preston Hospital, each Monday-Friday. Lets hope that treatment makes a difference.
The prognosis I have been given is not good, average life expectancy for a Grade 3 Brain Tumour is just 2-3 years but I'm hoping for much more than that. I have everything to live for and will fight this disease all the way.
Now, enough of the miserable stuff....
My wife, Anne-Marie and a very good friend of ours, Alison, have both accepted the challenge of walking a midnight half marathon on Saturday, the 20th June 2009. The walk starts from Chorley Hospital and finishes a few hours later at Preston Hospital.
I would be extremely grateful if you would sponsor Anne-Marie & Alison for as much as you can possibly afford in order to help raise money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation to ensure that I and many others like me can receive the best treatment possible.
Cancer affects 1 in 3 people. A very sad fact of life. I think if you can get through life without you or a family member being affected by cancer in some form or other, you are extremely lucky.
Donating through Justgiving.com is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor Anne-Marie & Alison. Rosemere Cancer Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor the girls now! (They've paid me well to call them girls!!)
Hope to see you all very soon.
Thanks very much.
