Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Jake passed away aged just suffering from a rare disease called Battens, clinically known as Neuronal Ceriod Lipofuscinoses. It's a genetic disease where the body doesn't dispose of toxins correctly and over time they build up around the base of the brain, causing epilepsy, loss of speech, vision, movement and is fatal. At present there is no cure. The BDFA foundation plays a vital role in supporting the families of those affected by this cruel disease.

There is less than 60 children diagnosed with Battens in this country and because of this it rarely gets publication like other charitys, but is role is even more important than most given the outcome of all cases.

Without us raising awareness and funds the BDFA would not continue and people like myself would be left alone to deal with such a devastating condition. Your support is so vital for all of us in the hope that one day a cure may be found.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
