On the 12th September 2008 James Cooke and I will be setting off from Lands End and heading to John O'Groats on bicycles. This will be a trip of round 1,000 miles, unless we get lost!!!

We will be raising for a charity called Save the Baby. This charity was set up to raise funding for St. Mary's hospital. Money raised will enable St. Mary's to continue their work and research into miscarriage, infertility, pregnancy and newborn complications. Through St. Mary's over a thousand couples every year give birth to healthy live babies who would not otherwise exist. The recurrent miscarriage unit has an 80% successful pregnancy rate. These statistics alone demonstrate what an amazing job they do.
James and I will be funding this trip completely out of our own pockets. Money raised will not be paying for a holiday but will be going to the charity.
Despite being blessed with the arrival of Kiera in 2001 Vicki and I lost another 5 babies to miscarriage. When Vicki became pregnant again in 2004 we fought hard to be referred to St. Mary's recurrent miscarriage clinic in London. Despite similar tests being completed by our local hospital St. Mary's diagnosed a problem and were able to provide a treatment, which led to the safe arrival of a healthy Maisy Mae in March 2005.
More than just having the knowledge and treatment the staff at St. Mary's are second to none. From despair and heartache they provide hope and show they really do care. We have no doubt that without St. Mary's Maisy would not be with us today.
We would like to thank you in advance for any contribution. You can follow our progress through training and the event at www.freewebs.com/lejog2008.
Now where did I put my Chopper?
