The Hospice provides palliative care to adults suffering from cancer who reside in the Andover area. Within its six bed in-patient unit and ten place day centre the hospice offers symptom control, respite care, terminal care, complementary therapies, family support and bereavement services all delivered in a peaceful and homely environment, believing that each person is special and every day counts.

My story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are a group of six friends living and working in and around Andover, who have all been touched and affected in some way by those suffering from cancer. We have seen firsthand the fantastic work carried out by the staff and volunteers at Andover Hospital’s Countess of Brecknock Hospice, and wanted to do something to both repay their efforts and enable them to continue with their incredible work.

To this end, we will be undertaking a sponsored cycle ride taking in the entire length of Great Britain, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, in just seven days. This gruelling challenge, which will take place in May 2009, will see all six of us cycling close to 1,000 miles over the course of the week at an average of more than 130 miles a day.
