My story
We are raising money for The Lullaby Trust (formerly FSID) following the tragic, sudden and unexplained death of our beloved daughter, niece and cousin Chloe Thorpe on 26th January 2010, aged just 3 months.
Cycle for Chloe Nightrider 2013: on 8th-9th June Leona will take on the Nightrider challenge, a 100km moonlit cycle around London
Climb for Chloe Yorkshire 3 Peaks 2014: James, Lee & Jo take to the hills!
Kilimanjaro 2014: Jo's Kilimanjaro climb...our fundraising target is now twice the height of Kilimanjaro in metres
Previously: In January 2012 Leona, Julie, Jo, Sarah and Eilish embarked on a self funded Mount Kilimanjaro trek. Lee, Ju and Eilish reached the 5895 metre summit- Lee fuelled by jelly babies, Ju despite turning the colour of a smurf on day four! Sarah reached 5200 metres (approximately) and Jo reached 5028 metres (exactly!) before succumbing to altitude sickness. When Jo goes back she'll be armed with anti-mountain sickness drugs!
Partly because it was good training and partly because she's a bit mad, Leona also ran (ish) the London Marathon 2011...she looked like an extra from Shaun of the Dead by the time she crossed the finish line!!
Ju competed in the Enduralife 50 mile Triathlon 2011 (mountain biking, kayaking and trail running across Devon) and was third female home.
Craft stalls, country fayre, supermarket collection, dance event collection, baking, jam-making, online auction, tweeting...and according to one local paper "all night dancing in supermarkets"!!!
