| Our personal message: |
Well I have done it, I have returned from the Great Trek! Unfortunately Barry was unable to join me due to his ill health at the time so I made the trip on my own.It was quite gruelling at times, extreme weather temperatures and high altitude made it hard but I was lucky not to suffer with altitude sickness as so many others did, one even had to return to base.It was no picnic, mind you I am not a Happy Camper, this not being my idea of bliss!! I have to say the expedition organisers did us proud with the food prepared in the middle of the Andes in less than perfect conditions. Still I am proud of my achievemnt(and have a medal to prove I did it) and pleased that so many people supported me, there is still some money to come in and I hope that I may reach the £2,500 mark by the time it is all collected. I part funded the trip so Freshfields would receive more funds and I would like to thank everyone who donated.I really appreciated it. It was a great experience for me, a successful fundraising activity and you all made it worthwhile. THANK YOU. Lesley
