Story
The support of people, like yourself, is critical in prolonging the lives of HIV positive people, and to MSF's effort to prove the viability of antiretroviral treatment for HIV/AIDS in Africa. MSF provides treatment and care in communities that are often deprived of the most basic medical care. Whether it is pioneering the treatment of HIV/AIDS for African children, delivering antiretroviral therapy in regions suffering from intense conflict, or expanding care in health systems deprived of medical staff by the HIV/AIDS pandemic itself ? our work to help HIV positive people depends on you. Your contribution is therefore as valuable as that made by our volunteer nurses, doctors, and other specialists.
December 1st is World Aids day. Let us not forget the suffering that millions of people go through living with this disease. This is not just a homosexual disease or a disease promoted by promiscuity but this is a disease that effects millions of normal people throughout the world. Being HIV positive should not be a stigma, we should show compassion and understanding to people living with Aids. We need to be educated, we need to educate others as well. We need organisations to get a grip on themselves and take the matter of Aids seriously.
One of the main worries is children who have Aids and through no fault of there own. Those who had no choice but still contracted the disease.
