Sean Rothery was a close and loyal work colleague and Sean wanted to do something to celebrate the life of Kelvin and therefore The Big Bike Ride was set in motion. Sean was not only devastated by the loss of a close friend but also has a very close connection with sufferers and bereaved family members as his father was also taken by this devastating illness. The idea of The Big Bike Ride was to help raise money to commemorate Kelvin’s life, provide emotional support to his wife and his children and to pay remembrance to his Dad who he lost 20 years ago. The valuable funds will help these 2 charities continue providing care, support, advice and guidance during and after this traumatic event.
Sean will be joined by Paul, Alex, Nick, Rajan and Rob in this epic bike ride. Over 1000 miles will be covered over a 12 day period starting on 26th March 2010. All cyclists are amateur riders and each has purchased their bike and equipment especially for this event.
