Heya!
I, along with a dozen or so other hardy Mary's students are attemping the Three peaks challenge on the 6th and 7th of June. In case you are totally out of the mountain climbing loop, the three peaks challenge is climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours! Our group will be joined by several others organised by DUCK (Durham University Charities Kommittee, which totally kicked the NSPCCs asses to be voted best fund raising team last year) and we will be raising money for The Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team.
The Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team is a group of volunteers who assist the police at any hour of the day to help anyone who needs it on any of Co. Durham's mountains (or big hills probably). This is definantly a worthy cause and I imagine they get a lot of calls this time of year what with countless groups of students foolishly trying to climb mountains...
I'd be very thankful if you could spare a few pounds to give to a good cause (or if you prefer to make me to endure a weekend of wet and windy mountain climbing!)
Cheers, Lewis.
