My story

Thankyou for  visiting my site.  I am aware you have called here for RSPCA ROCHDALE, I am though running for Christies Hospital too,so all money raised will be divided between the two charities.  I hope this does not affect your decision to give to these deserving causes, very close to my heart.

I chose Rochdale RSPCA as I am a little biased ,I am Senior Animal Care Assistant at the branch,so I see and deal with all the unfortuante animals that pass through our centre and without whom would have no one and no hope,if it wasnt for the hardworking, dedicated team we have...for example...the picture of Ivor n Oddball, these kittens were found at 1 day old in a cardboard box near a canal in the pouring rain,if it wasnt for the expertise, dedication and time consuming efforts of the staff, they would most certainly not be here to find loving homes now. Please help us continue our work for these animals, who through no fault of there own rely on us to help.

I have also chose the Christies Hospital to run for, another charity close to my heart, for the compassion, dedication and understanding they gave my mum and I,in her battle with this awful disease. Please help them to continue their devoted work helping those, and their families, still couragously fighting ,have a little dignity and hope.  Please help me help these two charities fight throught these awkward times.  Thankyou.

Linda

Hi,as mentioned above I am Linda, 38yrs old,Senior Animal Care Assistant at the Rochdale RSPCA Branch.  I started working here 2yrs ago from other animal work, and found a new exciting, dedicated animal workplace, I love my time here doing what I love best, my mum, mentioned above was very proud when my years of animal work paid off and I was made Senior, she unfortunatly lost her 6yr battle with cancer 2 months after me getting the post. Without the dedication of Christies, she may not even have seen that.

In a moment of madness last year I decided I wanted to do the Great Manchester Run,no easy (or maybe even sensible!) feat since I smoked and have not done any running for 20yrs!! So this is a very concerted effort for me,but one I really feel I want and need to do. I am training hard and actually for some strange reason, actually looking forward to the run...and hopefully the help I can give these 2 Charities,I hope you can all find a little to support me in this help and make my efforts on the treadmill, road and bike a little more worthwhile.

Thankyou so much if you are still reading, speak soon
