Lindsay & Sarah have decided to ditch the Wine and Cigarettes, abandon their make-up and GHD's and climb the highest mountain in the Atlas range in North Africa. We think that this deserves a little bit of sponsorship, if for no other reason than we will know why we decided to do this when we are up on the mountain with our frizzy hair and serious dt's!
We have given ourselves just two months to prepare and are heading off on 31st May so you have just two months to give us as much money as possible for charity.
In Morocco, there are over 2 million children aged between 14 and 18 who are illiterate and 38% of these children are living on the streets. In 2005, the Terre des Jeunes project was set up to combine the protection of the environment, together with the re-integration of these children into the working world.
One of the project's aims is to develop a site located 5km from Marrakech with professional training areas and gardens, in order to train young people up to become apprentice gardeners. This way, they will hopefully gain employment with local hotels used by tourists like us. As well as developing their vocational skills, the project also improves literacy and provides ongoing support.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends of Conservation who ensure that all your donation gets to the project and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us! Every little bit helps!
Thankyou xx
