Great Wall of China 2007 · 26 January 2007

Story

Welcome to a fundraising page of The China Dolls

Maxine lead the way by deciding to undertake this intrepid trek, and her good example was quickly followed by Dawn, Tonia and myself (Lisa). Warm fuzzy thoughts of "doing good" carried us along, until we saw the pictures of the area of the Wall we would be trekking along. Not wide, flat, boulevard style Wall like you see on TV. There are steps.  Thousands of steps.  You go up steps, just to come back down other steps. It quickly became obvious we are going to be working very hard for our sponsorship money. Every pound raised will be greatly appreciated, by ourselves as a reward for a job well done, and by Martin House whom get to spend it!

Martin House is the only children and young person's hospice in the West and North Yorkshire region, with an annual budget of approximatley £3.6 million. Our combined efforts will cover one days running costs, which is one more day they don't have to worry about.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you for your time already given in reading about our efforts. Thank you even more if it has inspired you to become one of our sponsors. Feel free to tell your friends about us, so that they too may share in our good deed.
