Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976, with the sole aim of ridding the world of poverty housing. Using donated money, materials and labour we work in partnership with people in need of shelter to build safe, decent homes in over 90 countries around the world. Today we have built over 260,000 homes, helping over one and a half million people in more than 3,000 communities.

Liverpool Habitat for Humanity (LHFH) was founded in 2002, with its first piece of land in KingsleyRoad, Toxteth, donated by the Liverpool RC Archdiocese. The project is to build 32 homes at Kingsley Road over the next 5 years.
LHFH is offering decent, affordable homes on a ‘shared equity’ basis. The annual salary range for a LHFH family is currently £10,000 to £20,000. A LHFH home is a hand up - not a handout.
There is no financial down payment required. Partner families are expected to contribute 500 hours of ‘sweat equity’ in building the homes. Partner families can purchase a share of the property at the outset from a bank or building society beginning as low as 40% (subject to status). They will need to be able to pay back any amount borrowed over the period of the no-profit mortgage. LHFH will not charge any rent on the part of the house still owned by LHFH for at least the first 5 years.
Construction has begun on the first three homes and your donation will enable us to help more families with a housing need.
