Hello,
At the beginning of 2010 I lost one of my sisters, Denny, through cancer at age 54. Denny fought hard throughout the last part of 2009 but in the end she lost her battle. She leaves behind a loving husband, Roger, who had just retired so that they could spend more time together, two daughters Natalie & Fiona, and a son, Philip, all of whom will miss her greatly along with the rest of the family. She was a person with a wicked laugh and smiling face that would give anything a go. During December 09 and January 10 Denny wanted to be at home and so was looked after by the Iain Rennie Nurses who came to her home to administer treatment and make Denny comfortable. During this time the weather was less than kind but they still fought to get through.
The charity needs £3.5m to provide this service each year but only gets 12% of this from local Primary Care Trusts, the rest needed comes from fundraising and donations. The service provided is free of charge to patients.
It would be great if you could donate to this great cause that gave Denny the quality of life in her own environment that meant so much to her and the family.
Thank you
Liz
